The term climate change is characterized as a continual shift in the Earth’s climatic conditions, particularly in average temperature, average precipitation amount and weather elements. It is most often caused by human-related activities like fossil fuels combustion, deforestation and industry activities which release into the atmosphere greenhouse gases (GHG) including carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O) among others. These gases retain warmth leading to the process known as the “greenhouse effect” which results to the increase in temperature across the globe.

Land Use Changes: The transformation of the land caused by draining of the wetlands or interchanging the land use of forests with construction of urban areas results in the increase of carbon in the atmosphere and changes the climate of the area.
Natural Causes:
Volcanic Eruptions: Large-scale volcanism is able to expel gas such as sulfur dioxide, which is capable of hovering over the surface of the Earth and reflecting sunlight and temporarily cooling the Earth. Solar Variability: Changes in solar radiation could be considered effective looking at a much larger time scale, but these do not explain the recent decadal warming trend. Ocean Currents and Natural Climate Cycles: Similar long-range oscillations are El Niño or La Niña, which in average are able to affect dry or wet climates, however, these in average are relatively small oscillations within the overarching pattern of climate change.
